Includes a comprehensive approach to practicals in forensic medicine and toxicology covering the complete undergraduate syllabus. Presented in a very simple and lucid language, the exercises are self-explanatory and need to be completed with appropriate answers. Certificates, reports and notifications issued by doctors for the purposes of various acts/administrative requirements (as per MCI) are given in detail. Proformas and certificates are provided with hypothetical cases (problem-based learning) so that the students should take more interest in the subject.

There are specific exercises on determination of age from X-rays, and instruments used in autopsy.
Examination of skeletal remains is given in detail.
Clinical forensic medicine is the highlight of the practical record book. Examination of an individual for estimation of age, survivor examination in sexual assault, examination of accused in sexual assault, examination of a case of alleged impotence, examination of a patient in cases of poisoning and drunkenness are given in detail.
Examination of a case of recent delivery and psychiatric examination of a person is also given.
An innovative exercise on 'Project' has been added. In this exercise, the students are required to submit a case report (MLR/PMR), which they have worked upon during their posting. This is an introduction to academic writing for the students.
